My Story
What I do:
I process payroll, file employment returns, data entry, reconcile bank accounts, prepare financial statements, answer client bookkeeping questions, prepare personal property tax reports, sales and use tax reports, and during tax season prepare entity and individual tax returns.
How I do it:
I love lists — you will always find a list on my desk.
Why I do it:
I love a clean set of books, where balances tie out to statements and you can clearly see the income, expenses, liabilities, and equity. I love teaching shortcuts in QuickBooks and watching clients take interest in booking entries correctly.
My life outside of VT Accounting
My name is Sandy, I have been in the field of accounting since I was a teenager, I started working for my friend’s dad, as a bookkeeper and tax preparer in high school. I have enjoyed working with a variety of businesses from nonprofit churches, homeowner associations, sole proprietors, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and trust accounting. I have helped prepare documents for forensic testimony, assisting in identifying anomalies and tracing the flow of money.
My family and I moved from San Diego to the small town of Silver Springs, Nevada back in 2014. We desired to raise our children and grandchildren in a rural setting without the traffic and crime of a big city. We've had several different types of animals on our little farm, from chickens, horses, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, and even llamas and an alpaca.
On the weekends I enjoy spending time with my family and my English bulldog, Mika. I have been married for 25 years and have 4 children, 3 of which relocated to Nevada with us. I love to sing worship songs at our home church and outreach events. I love watching my daughters play guitar, sing, and dance with my 4 grandchildren.
